HANDMADE IN BANGLADESH
We hope you like our collection of placemats, which can be paired with bread baskets in the same series. The dimensions of this placemat are B45 x H36 cm. We use it to decorate the table for any occasion and hope you will do the same.
The placemat is made from jute, a natural fiber with a golden, silky sheen. It is handwoven following global fair trade principles and took about two hours to make.
When you buy a placemat, you help ensure decent, meaningful, and dignified jobs for marginalized women in Bangladesh. The women work for a socially responsible company where they receive fair pay and vocational training.

Details
The placemat is made from jute, a natural fiber. It is also called "the golden fiber" because of its shiny golden color.
The fiber is extracted from the bark of the jute plant and goes through an extensive processing procedure before it becomes a finished jute product. Jute is an environmentally friendly material because the jute plant requires very little water.
Because the products are handmade, no two will ever be exactly the same. We hope you will appreciate the small unique details and their story as much as we do — and that you will enjoy them for many years to come.
Care
- Not machine washable
- Shake your placemat or wipe it with a lightly damp cloth
