non-negotiables
We want to create a future with more responsible business
At Manelleh, we want to be the new generation of more responsible companies. We do this by committing to what many companies call their code of conduct. We call it our non-negotiables, and these are the values and principles that we do not negotiate and never compromise on. The core of our business is that we work closely with our partners around the world. That way we know how each product is made, who it is made of, and what the women get paid.
Our non-negotiables
Craftswomen creating products for us will get a fair and timely wage.
Craftswomen creating products for us will work in safe and healthy work environments.
We do not tolerate child labor.
Craftswomen contributing to our business will get resources beyond wages, e.g. technical training, new business skills, annual profit and retirement fund.
We value craftswomen that create unique and personal products that take time to make - and are the opposite to mass production.
We work with small-scale, social and Fair Trade Enterprises to ensure intimate partnerships and to be certain that we empower women.
We strive to produce products that don’t harm the environment in an excessive way. We prefer to work with upcycled, recycled and organic materials and choose to buy long-lasting designs and products.
We will collaborate with artisans, partners, businesses, NGOs and organizations who share our goals of creating change and supporting a movement of more responsible businesses to the benefit of women around the world.
Human rights, labor rights, environment and anti-corruption
The 10 principles of the UN Global Compact
The 10 principles of the UN Global Compact are both an inspiration and an underlying foundation for our non-negotiables and way of doing business. This means that we conduct business in a way that at least complies with fundamental criteria regarding human rights, labor market rights, the environment and anti-corruption.
