HANDMADE IN BANGLADESH 

We hope that you will  love our collection of one-of-a-kind bags in various colors and patterns. The bag measures W60 x H44 cm and has three outside and three inside pockets. It comes with a short and long adjustable handle.

The bag is quilted, made of three layers of vintage cotton saris and lined with GOTS certified organic cotton.  It is hand sewn together using a traditional kantha stitch, a centuries-old tradition of embroidery native in Bangladesh and India. It is made by women artisans, based on fair trade principles, and has taken seven hours to create. 

Every purchase empowers women at a social enterprise in Bangladesh.It provides safe and dignified jobs for disadvantage women. They recieve fair wages, yearly dividends, on the job training and capacity building

Details

This bag is made from vintage saris, which means the product has a history. The saris have previously been worn by women in Bangladesh. They have now been upcycled and given a new life which means smaller imperfections such as small stains and patches can occur.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most recognized global standard for the processing of organic fibers. The standard is supported by an independent third-party certification and is a guarantee of compliance with a wide range of environmental and social criteria throughout the supply chain. Textiles that are GOTS certified must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres.
