HANDMADE IN BANGLADESH
We hope you like our set of jewelry boxes. The square box measures W10 x L10 x H5 cm and the hexagonal one measures L13 x H4 cm.
The boxes are made of thick jute paper and covered with beautiful vintage saris both outside and inside. The jewelery boxes are made based on global fair trade principles and take about an hour to make.
When you buy a jewelery box, you help ensure proper, meaningful and dignified jobs for marginalized women in Bangladesh. The women work for a socially responsible company, where they receive a fair salary, annual bonus (dividend) and professional training.

Details
The jewelery boxes are made of jute, which is a natural fibre. The fiber is extracted from the bark of the jute plant and goes through an extensive processing process before it becomes a finished jute product. Jute is an environmentally friendly material because the jute plant requires very little water.
The jewelery boxes are lined with vintage saris, which means they have a history. The saris have previously been worn by women in Bangladesh. They have now been upcycled and given a new life.
Likewise, there will never be two products that are exactly alike, because the products are handmade. We hope that you will appreciate the small features of the products and their history as much as we do - and we hope that you will enjoy them for many years to come.
