We hope you like our collection of beautiful jute baskets in different shapes and sizes. The dimensions of this round basket are D30 x H30 cm and it has two handles. Use it for storage and decoration in any room in your home.
The basket is made of jute and holga seagrass. It is handmade using a traditional braiding technique and naturally dyed via a manual process with dye from the acacia wood. The basket is produced based on global fair trade principles and took approximately five hours to make.
When you buy a jute basket, you help ensure proper, meaningful and dignified jobs for marginalized women in Bangladesh. The women receive a fair wage and at the same time help preserve and develop an old craft tradition.

Details
The basket is primarily made of jute, which is a natural fiber. It is also called "the golden fiber" because of its shiny golden color.
The fiber is extracted from the bark of the jute plant and goes through an extensive processing process before it becomes a finished jute product. Jute is an environmentally friendly material because the jute plant requires very little water.
As the products are handmade, no two products will ever be exactly alike. We hope that you will appreciate the small features of the products and their history as much as we do - and we hope that you will enjoy them for many years to come.
Care
- Vacuum your basket regularly
- If you spill water on the basket, remove it with a dry cloth
- Be aware that jute changes color when exposed to direct sunlight
- The smell of jute (like the smell of oil) disappears after a few days
