We hope that you will love our collection of unique makeup bags in different colors and patterns. The makeup bag measures W20 x H10 x D3,5 cm.

The makeup bag is quilted, made of three layers of vintage cotton or silk saris and lined with GOTS certified organic cotton. It is hand-sewn together by a traditional kantha stitch, a centuries-old tradition of embroidery native to Bangladesh and India. It is made by women artisans, based on fair trade principles, and has taken approximately two hours to cut, hand-sew and machine-stitch.

Every purchase empowers women at a social enterprise in Bangladesh. It provides safe and dignified jobs for disadvantaged women. The women receive fair wages, yearly dividends, on the job training and capacity building.

Details

This bag is made of vintage saris, which means that the product has a history. In the past, these saris were worn by women in Bangladesh. They are now up-cycled and given a new life which means that smaller imperfections such as small stains and patches can occur.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most recognized global standard for the processing of organic fibers. The standard is supported by an independent third-party certification and is a guarantee of compliance with a wide range of environmental and social criteria throughout the supply chain. Textiles that are GOTS certified must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibers.
