HANDMADE IN BANGLADESH
We hope you enjoy our collection of beautiful hand-woven rugs in a range of colors and sizes. This rug measures W70 x L130 cm and can be used as a runner in your home or summer home.
The rug is naturally dyed and hand-woven from two different colors of jute twine. It is handmade following global fair-trade principles and took three to four hours to weave.
When you buy a hand-woven rug, you help secure decent, meaningful, and dignified jobs for marginalized women in Bangladesh. The women receive a fair wage and at the same time help preserve and develop a traditional craft.
The rug is predominantly (about 90 percent) made from jute, a natural fiber. The fiber is extracted from the bark of the jute plant and goes through an extensive processing procedure before becoming a finished jute or jute/cotton product.
Because the products are handmade, there will never be two items that are exactly the same. We hope you will appreciate the products' small unique features and their story as much as we do – and we hope you will enjoy your product for many years to come.
